HappyHQ is the better way to work.

Welcome!

Sara and James here. We created HappyHQ because, well, work is still too much work.

Our docs, files, notes, transcripts, tickets, messages… they’re everywhere and nowhere all at once. We spend our time searching, repeating, and duplicating instead of learning or improving. There’s too much duct tape and manual workarounds. Our work feels like a garden that is overwhelmed by weeds, untended and unmanageable.

We try productivity apps and growth hacks, but those just muddy the field. They certainly don’t make our work, let’s just say it: happier. We started HappyHQ because we know there has to be a better way. We believe our tools should learn and adapt with us (and be openly accessible). And, who knows, with the right amount of tending and sunlight, our garden might just flourish.

Introducing Q:

The AI teammate you can teach to do anything.

A better way to learn plan work

  1. Q ingests your work tasks:
SOWs
Proposals
Emails
Reviews
Updates
  1. Then Q helps you create specs and playbooks to accelerate these tasks. All in standard formats you can take and use anywhere.
  1. And now that Q has learned how you do what you do, it only gets smarter and faster each time you need to do it again.

With HappyHQ, your work is anything but routine.

Let's take a look at Q.

Q doesn’t just respond, Q learns and then does your work, your way (with collaboration, real-time syncing, and version control built in)!

Who is using HappyHQ?

HappyHQ is for founders, managers, leaders, and individuals at startups or scaleups.

It’s for anyone who has to create or manage proposals, updates, reports, reviews, contracts, meetings, and more.

How it feels working with HappyHQ!

Calm companies over hustle culture FTW!

I run my entire coaching and client prep through HappyHQ Streams. I am saving hours upon hours of time by using HappyHQ to prepare client proposals and notes. I used to have to jump between various apps and sources to compile notes. With HappyHQ, everything is in one place, and I don't have to repeat or duplicate any work.

Jill P.

Holistic Medicine Practitioner

I consider myself pretty advanced with using AI and also an advanced Obsidian notes user. I was initially doubtful that HappyHQ would work for me, but I was wrong! It's so helpful to have all of my local Mardown files connected to Streams, where I can chat with Q to get things done that previously took a ton of my time. From user stories to weekly team updates, HappyHQ is like having an extra teammate.

Jim P.

Startup Founder & Head of Product

I am an independent writer working with a number of clients at any given time. I have a HappyHQ Stream for each of my clients that contains all the background information for that project. I use HappyHQ to help me prepare for meetings, draft weekly status summaries, and to generally take care of all of the busy work so I can focus on the important creative work. It's a lifesaver!

Got questions?

What is HappyHQ?

HappyHQ is the AI workspace for everyday work.

Here's how HappyHQ works:

You first start by teaching HappyHQ how you do your work. For example, you might start with how you create your monthly team updates. You do this by chatting with Q, who you can think of as your AI teammate. You might type, "Hey Q, can you help me to create my monthly team update?" Q will then ask you a series of questions to learn how you work. You can even upload examples of your work to help Q to get up to speed on your preferences. Q then creates a detailed spec and playbook, all in Markdown and stored locally on your machine.

Now that you've helped to train Q, it's ready to help you with your tasks. You tell Q what it is that you want to accomplish. For example, "Hey Q, can you now help me draft this month's team update?" This could be anything from help putting together a status report, an investor update, some user stories, a client proposal, or more. Q will review the spec and playbook, which explains exactly how you like your work to be completed, and then it will complete the task.

And finally, if there's any feedback along the way, you can pause Q and share what you want changed. Each time you run a task, Q doesn't start from scratch. It keeps detailed notes each time it runs. Each run is a small loop, which keeps your work focused and contained. The best part is that Q gets smarter and smarter as it goes.

Who are we?

And why do we exist?

Who are we?

  • We’re a small, bootstrapped team based in Southern California.☀️
  • We struggled as founders, leaders, and managers to keep up. We’ve been there!
  • We believe that work has the power to transform our lives, and that AI can help us when it’s used transparently, openly, and honestly.
  • We’re a calm company that values experiences and pixels. But we value people and relationships even more.

And why do we exist?

  • Too many notifications isn’t working.
  • Context switching between apps every few minutes isn’t working.
  • Random trackers in different tools isn’t working.
  • AI here, there, and nowhere isn’t working.
  • Not enough hours in the day isn’t working.
  • Always starting from scratch isn’t working.
  • Business models and pricing plans that fill the pockets of the wrong people just isn’t working.
